Victorian oil lamp. Circa 1890's.  As with many of these lamps, with electricity becoming available to more and more houses in the 1920s-1930s, this one has been converted to electricity with a socket and light bulb replacing the oil burner. Most of these lamps had flowers painted or applied to the glass globes. They were featured in the popular movie, Gone With The Wind, and that is the general name these lamps go by now. However, they were not yet invented at the time of the Civil War in the 1850's so they are technically called a banquet lamp. Sorry Hollywood, you got that prop in the wrong time period!  This particular lamp has the only scene on one I have ever seen with a whitetail deer and ducks on the front and backs of the glass globes. it lights up with a beautiful soft glow at night. A rare treasure for a gentleman or sportsman.

Due to their delicate nature, I usually ship these in two separate boxes.
